I had an in-store experience yesterday at Camera Ready Cosmetics that left me feeling off, and the more I’ve sat with it, the more I realize it might be part of a bigger shift. After I got home, I started noticing similar conversations from other makeup artists in different spaces. Not in a dramatic way, just a general feeling that the experience is not what it used to be. For me, it was not just the environment or the interaction. It was also the fact that most of what I needed was not available in store and a lot of it was on pre order. The gal at the counter made me feel really uncomfortable, she was distant, not really helpful and definitely not customer service oriented. It felt like I was walking in to a place I shouldn’t be. Retail, especially beauty retail, should be an experience. Lighting matters. Energy matters. If it felt dark, small, and awkward. It just doesn’t feel like a place geared towards art anymore. You can buy the same products with a pro discount at Norcostco and be able to browse a huge show room. But back to the pre-ordered items…for the last 2-3 months I’ve been paying full price for products they are supposed to carry but hardly ever have in stock. They just blame the brands, transit or tariffs. That part really threw me, because this used to be my go to for everything. I could count on walking in and leaving with what I needed for my kit. I understand that a lot of businesses are leaning more into e commerce, and that makes sense. But as a customer, especially as a working artist, there is an expectation that comes with that. You would think that shifting more toward online would mean inventory and fulfillment are even more dialed in, not less accessible in store. When I am sourcing products for work, I need reliability. I need to know I can get what I need without jumping through hoops or waiting on pre orders for staple items. And they STILL are out of a product I needed a month ago. The in person experience matters, but so does product availability. When both start to feel off at the same time, it changes how you trust a store. The entire store is now in a small, old, dark warehouse that you have to ring a bell to get into. Then you are greeted like you aren’t supposed to be there. It’s just not at all what it used to be a short few months ago and it’s really sad and depressing. A store that once had SO much life is now starting to die. I am curious if other artists or customers have been running into this too, or if this was just an off experience? But I do miss Calvin and the chick with the blue hair, I loved them. They were so helpful and kind.

Really great experience with this business. I accidentally put in the wrong shipping address and thought it was going to be a whole headache, but they fixed it right away with no issues. Living in Buffalo, NY sometimes my address gets confused with New York, New York. Communication was quick and super helpful, and my order still showed up faster than I expected. It was also really nice working with a USA-based business and supporting something more local. You can tell they actually care about their customers, which is rare. Overall just a smooth, stress-free experience and I can’t wait to see how the makeup thinner works with my airbrush!

This is a horrible place to order from!! I bought a makeup kit for my class from here and it still hasn't arrived, nobody is willing to help me figure out what's wrong with the shipment and they're super unprofessional. I contacted costumer service and they basically said it's not their problem that my package is still on the other side of the country, no updates, no solution and it was supposed to be here two weeks ago and then again a week ago. Their costumer service is also horrible and unprofessional, I'm already unhappy but they have the audacity to use unfunny emojis. I am a college student spent $100 on this and now have to waste another $100 I don't have to buy this kit somewhere else and wait to return it for a refund but who knows when it'll show up. I'm extremely unhappy and they genuinely don't care don't buy from here!!

I know the beginning was drastic becz of the confirmation issue from your side but u finally delivered my product after 12 days😏😅 i ordered this moisturizer becz of its craze in market, and my cosmetologist also suggested me this she has also oily & acneprone skin, but somewhere I was in little fear to use this moisturizer which made for dry skin, butttt after using alot of actives to prevent my acne my skin gets sensetive and i tried a lot but redness and post inner swelling which left red scars on cheeks looked horrible, but after I thought let give Bioderma atoderm cream a last chance, I can't imagine the results and also shocked by the results, IT REPAIRED MY SKIN BERRIER+ REDUCED POST ACNE SWELLINGS+ MOISTURIZE MY SKIN+ ALSO REDUCED REDNESS AROUND ACNE SCARS "IN JUST 4 TO 5 DAYS" I Just want to thank Bioderma that it is making my skin radiant. I also attached my before after pictures. After my swelling and berrier was repaired in 7 days then I paired it up with aziderm azelic acid 10% gel and morning 5% tranexamic acid serum, and then atoderm cream & now it's my PM routine But there is a catch, if u have oily skin also like me it can irritate somewhere by sweating or greasiness but it won't clog ur pores and also doesn't give u breakouts, so just use use Little amount it's enough for oily acneprone skin type. Very helpful employees, large assortment of special effects make up, and several brands I had only ever seen online. However. I went the day before Halloween when only one employee was scheduled and the wait time was very long. The employee was doing their best to keep up with all the customers, but since all the live sellable product isn’t on the floor, it took a while to check everyone out and wait to get our purchases. I don’t blame the employees as every time I’ve been in they’ve been helpful, I just feel like management should have scheduled more people the day before Halloween at a specialty make up store. My Halloween costume as a goblin was successful.

Brandon was amazing!!!! He was so helpful in finding a solution for my VERY complicated skin. It was my first time in and He went above and beyond. I will definitely be getting my makeup here from now on!!

Gets the job done! The watery drops quickly blend into my foundation to create a semi-matte foundation. RIP EL Double ware.

This primer has made a huge difference for my makeup! I bought this because I am going to be in a wedding next year and struggle with an upper sweaty lip! Without it, beads of sweat are showing on my lip, and of course, when I dab it off, it's taking off my makeup. However, since using this primer, my makeup stays on all day; even on the hotter days, it's staying secure, and my beads of sweat have come to a halt! Make sure when applying, you allow it to dry for a few minutes before going in with your routine. Will definitely be stocking up on this product!

Found this brand on a deep search for muted mauve and lilac blushes that work for my dark olive skin tone. I am so glad to have discovered this brand. I hope to be able to purchases more of the shades that I ended up liking because they're were perfect for what I was looking for. I wish more people spoke about this brand. I hope once/if the talc reformulation comes, that the colors still hit the same. Beautiful formula, super pigmented, and love this extended range.

Great color, really helps to cover any redness & lays very nicely on the skin without moving or cracking throughout the day. Unfortunately it doesn't stay matte very long. I don't even have oily skin, just a shiny t-zone, and my nose is shiny again after just a few hours.
